Soul/Jazz singer, Vocalist and songwriter 'NΑYÒ', born Odunαyo Ayorinde, is a natural beauty blessed with a voice that is part angel and part siren. The 25-year-old prodigy might well be the new face of soul music in Nigeria.

Born on the 25th of February 1986 to parents, who are strict academicians, especially a father who is a Professor. She is the third of four girls. At 18, NΑYÒ started writing lyrics for music touching on any topic that came to mind, especially Christian music. Her primary singing experience came from "singing in the shower". She was groomed in the Church choir and started taking 'solos' at the age of 14 where she one day discovered her love for soul/jazz music.

NΑYÒ studied Law at the University of Lagos where she graduated in 2008 at the age of 22 and went on to Law school, graduating at 23. Thinking of pursuing a masters in the near future, the one of two pursuits that made sense to NΑYÒ from a very early age was music.

Embarking on a more ''soulful'' path, NΑYÒ had begun  performing live  in school as a teenager securing her first show at age 19, which soon grew to regular performances for the next 3 or 4yrs after which she took a break. According to NΑYÒ, it was a chance for her to stretch as a musician, reaching and growing beyond her experience and helping to foster her sense of rhythm.

Soul/Jazz music enthusiast should keep an ear out for NΑYÒ. Her sound is earthy, light, melodic, joyful, and almost sort of airborne. She asserts that she stumbled on soul/jazz music by accident and that she soon became obsessed with the voice, instrumentation and arrangement of the sound.

NΑYÒ cites Janelle Monae, Corrine Bailey Rae, British singer Adele Adkins, India Arie, Lauryn Hill, Chrisette Michele, Jill Scott, Pink and newly discovered Esperanza Spalding as important influences on her music.

NΑYÒ has recorded three songs - Unconditional Love, Destiny Train and Rhythm of the Sound. Her debut single "Rhythm of the sound" is a feel good song with a glimpse of heavenly bliss, delivered with a voice that pins you in the softest ways, to the wall, full of caress and warmth taking you beneath the wings of Nature's serenity.

NΑYÒ's debut album will be released in late 2011.
