2face's Unstoppable (International Edition)
As our fav rapper would say 'Boyz are not smiling', we are not smiling over the fact that 2Baba is releasing the same album twice (haba!).
We are most unhappy that he has the guts to sell the album for =N= 1,000 (with the pretty quality production and product delivery too, ok we are smiling about all the freebies sha). We are definitely not happy as regards his previous escapades and controversies with all those women not that its our business (oooh!!! wait, IT IS our business). We even had our guy Razor Blee G make a spoof about it, its hilarious!!!
Despite the failure of the previous version of the album, 2face undoubted now has us SMILING!!! "Where u bin hide all this better, guy u dey hoard am abi!!!"
Its official, 2face finally has outdone himself with this new re-release with an album that can stand toe-to-toe with his first album 'face-2-face'. Its an awesome blend of dancehall and R&B, which has put the artist back on the pedestal of 'pure awesomeness'. We don't need to talk to much about this album, you can hear the songs banging all over the airwaves with Hit tracks like 'Implication', 'Only Me'. They've got us all jittery; cold sweat on tracks like 'Be There' featuring Mr Incredible Himself or 'Outside'. Tracks like 'Enter the Place' still got us bumping, the album posing a few suprises such as 'I Sing' sampled from Fela's comic teaser 'Teacher Donít Teach Me Nonsense' and 'Emotion' which is a blend of rock and R&B.
We still think Tubaba needs to streamline lyrical content and style if he trully wants to acclaim this album as an international one. Its the same 2face even when he's quoting sade's 'This is No Ordinary Love' in the track 'Outside', maybe thats how we like it but we won't suggest it will give him internaltional accolades. Tracks like 'Implication' just has him rolling his mouth eedris-ing up the track, even he affirms it...'Ehn!!! i don't know what i'm singing right now'. We love you 2Face, just try harder for us, abeg!!! Nontheless, its one of the albums of 2010 that we're most pleased about. Way to go 2face, way to go!!!
But since we are not smiling, our rating isn't smiling either
Our rating: 7/10
